QUACKTASTIC DUCKS! On Dan’s last shopping trip to Indonesia he visited the factory that makes our fabulous ducks - starting from a big pile of muddy bamboo roots, right through to the finished product. The guys that make these really are talented to turn them from a rough old bit of bamboo dug out of the ground into our fabulous top-selling ducks. Check this out! They start by digging up the bamboo roots, then they wash them, roughly shave off some of the excess roots and pile them up, ready to be processed. After shaving off more excess root, they start the carving process to create the basic body shape then add heads, necks, legs and feet made from teak wood. They are put into the kiln to dry the wood, then sanded and painted free-hand in a variety of different colours and patterns to create the ducks we know and love. QUACKTASTICK!
