BALI SCHOOL UPDATE

You may remember that, for the last few years, Makasi has been sponsoring a school attended by some of our employees' children out in Bali, with the donation of rucksacks, stationery and computers - as well as books and soft furnishings to create some cosy book corners where the children can spend some quiet time.

Last year, the school received some funding from the Indonesian government for a much-needed new building and as this has taken shape, the lovely headmistress, Mrs Desak is now fundraising to enable them to finish decorating and furnishing the interior.

So, for our project this year we are helping them out with the cost of decorating, carpeting and furnishing the library section of the new building. Fingers crossed it should be up and running by the time Dan and Lisa make their next trip in March, so we'll be able to share the school's progress with you when they get back.

Makasi's sponsorship of SD No. 2 Gulingan, Bali Elementary School has enabled us to give something back to the local community in Indonesia, something that's important to our company values, and something that we look forward to doing each year. We'll keep you posted on developments!
