OUR MAN IN BALI

The final instalment of Dan's shopping trip started with a 4am flight to Bali, then Dan and Lisa spent the rest of a very long day hunting for new products until 7pm!

The next day started with the school trip, then on to visit more suppliers, including our recycled glass supplier and his family - his daughter had just been given a gorgeous little puppy so Dan couldn't resist a cuddle (don't tell Dolly!). Makasi's suppliers are all small family businesses and as soon as Dan and Lisa walk through the door they are greeted warmly with offerings of strong Balinese coffee, cold drinks and delicious food - they're such lovely, warm and friendly people.

Dan and Lisa bumped into some old friends - Dawn used to help out with the trade shows at the NEC and she was in Bali with her husband Jamie, so they all managed to have a catch up. Dan also bought another Toyota Land Cruiser to ship back to the UK and gave it a good road test, using it to drive around Bali during their visit.

The final part of the trip was a bit of well-deserved downtime in Bali, where Dan and Lisa were lucky enough to visit the Sumatran elephants where they fed them and joined them for a mud bath - what a great experience! Then off for a bit of shopping, relaxing and enjoying the delicious food and drink that Bali has to offer.

Finally, on the night before Nyepi, Dan and Lisa walked up to the town to see the Ogoh Ogoh sculptures being paraded around with all the local children and adults. It's been a really successful trip and now we've just got to make room in the warehouse for all the exciting new products Dan has bought - watch this space for details!
