POSTCARD FROM BALI

It's the final part of Dan and Lisa's buying trip with a 6-hour drive from the jungle suppliers in Java to the airport at Yogyakarta to catch a flight to Bali. On the first day they visited the Bali school we told you about in our previous email.
Next came a visit to our Bali parasol supplier to check out some new designs we've got up our sleeves for next year, and then our molten glass bowl supplier to talk about some new items coming soon - watch this space!
They visited far too many suppliers to mention, with loads of new products now under development. We're going to keep some of these new products under our hats so we can surprise you with them later in the year!
As Dan and Lisa were leaving Bali, the whole island was in preparation for Nyepi - New Year's Day in the Balinese Saka calendar. On the day of Nyepi, the island of Bali turns off all lights and sounds, stops all traffic, deserts all worldy activities and meditates, while complete silence and serenity reigns over the entire island. They had to leave their hotel very early to get to the airport before they closed all the roads! Check out their photos of the fabulously huge, if not slightly scary, Ogoh-Ogoh statues that are built especially for this ancient new year festival.
We hope you've enjoyed sharing Dan and Lisa's adventures with us on this trip - and we're sure you're going to love all the new products when they start arriving in the UK. Watch this space!
